Our founder, James, started OneSeven over five years ago after his experience hiring an offshore agency for his pre-seed Ed-Tech startup. The project was unsuccessful due to communication issues, conflicting time zones, and scope creep. Since then, he built OneSeven and tailored our services to support startup founders in need of high quality software development.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
OneSeven is looking for a project manager to join our Project Management Office and help lead the delivery of projects. This person will own the entire project lifecycle from onboarding to launch and work closely with all project stakeholders to ensure quality deliverables and timely delivery. Working closely with the design and development teams, this role will act as their advocate and coach, bringing visibility to progress on current projects and continually improving our project operations. Being in software development, this role will need to be comfortable learning about the technical side of how ideas turn into working applications.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead our internal design and development teams in working through the current backlog and aligning on upcoming deliverables.
- Run daily standups and scrum meetings to ensure key milestones, requirements, and deliverables are well articulated and prioritized to avoid scope creep.
- For each client project, develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, agendas, decision logs, schedule/timeline, progress reports, release notes, etc.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to all team members and clients on the best practices and processes of agile project management. Enforce and coach all involved team members and client stakeholders on the proper process for projects: time tracking, task creation, meetings, etc.
- Determining and overseeing consistent testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting of all products in all stages of completion.
- Managing ClickUp and ensuring all work and knowledge is well documented and organized: tasks, descriptions, notes, architecture, credentials, feature docs, etc.
- Work with OneSeven Leadership and other Account Managers to help with communications to the client regarding updates, questions, and other project needs.
- Coordinate with other team members to ensure the Sprint and Feature backlogs are well organized and up-to-date.
- Create and manage ClickUp dashboards to provide insights around project status and performance for all stakeholders - internal and external.
- Continually create or refine processes to improve project operations and reporting, including documentation and training materials.
- Lead scoping exercises with clients to understand the objectives and requirements, then use that to assign sprint point estimates to our design and engineering teams.
WHO YOU ARE
- You have 2-5 years of experience as a project manager, Scrum Master or Product Owner, Software Engineer, or other related fields.
- The startup world excites you and sparks your entrepreneurial spirit.
- You understand the product lifecycle and have experience managing the build and launch of software products.
- Able to effectively manage project timelines and budgets.
- You have experience leveraging modern productivity tools such as Jira or ClickUp.
- You have a deep understanding of project management and are ideally certified in one of the methodologies: Scrum, Agile, etc.
- Adept communicator, comfortable translating and simplifying technical jargon into concise, accessible language for all project stakeholders - Dev to CEO.
- Analytical thinker that can use project performance data to improve operations.
- You obsess over the details to ensure nothing is missed.
- Proactive by nature and always looking to get ahead and keep improving
- Demonstrated written and verbal fluency in English (required)
- Experience at a design or software development agency is a plus!

- Full-time position
- Annual Salary: $35,000 - $50,000 (based on experience)
- Completely remote workforce (work anywhere in the world, as long as you can be available during our company hours 9am-5pm EST)
