Our founder, James, started OneSeven over five years ago after his experience hiring an offshore agency for his pre-seed Ed-Tech startup. The project was unsuccessful due to communication issues, conflicting time zones, and scope creep. Since then, he built OneSeven and tailored our services to support startup founders in need of high-quality software development.
The Role: We are looking for a software engineer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications using Rust and Go technologies. Someone with a deep understanding of both frontend and backend development, and skilled in problem-solving, debugging, and testing to ensure the applications are efficient and reliable.
About You:

Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy Rust/Go/Python backend code with our web and mobile applications. You'll be working closely with our front-end developer.
- Share knowledge of the best software development practices
- Expertise in writing and integrating REST APIs
- Experience working with Linux OS is a must.
- Experience with frontend tech is preferred (Angular).
- Assist the Product Strategy team with initial app development research. This includes creating a backlog, working on database architecture, and working on time estimates and version release plans.
- Work with clients after their project has been completed and launched to debug and provide support.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience building high-performance systems with Rust/Go or similar language
- Good working knowledge of Rust.
- Experience with Python is preferred
- Experience with Angular is preferred
- Experience with Typescript is preferred
- Experience in both SQL and NoSQL(DynamoDB/MongoDB) is required
- Experience with Terraform is preferred
- Good working knowledge of AWS or GCP
- GIT + Github Experience
