Our founder, James, started OneSeven over five years ago after his experience hiring an offshore agency for his pre-seed Ed-Tech startup. The project was unsuccessful due to communication issues, conflicting time zones, and scope creep. Since then, he built OneSeven and tailored our services to support startup founders in need of high-quality software development.
The role: We are looking for a great Fullstack developer who is proficient with React/Node.js/Typescript/AWS/PostgreSQL. Your primary focus will be on developing user interface components and implementing them following well-known React workflows (such as Flux or Redux). You will ensure that these components and the overall application are robust and easy to maintain. You will coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem-solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is important.
About You:
- Fluent in English (B2-C2 level is required)
- 2-5 years of experience building B2B/B2C software.
- Excellent code practices
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong mentoring and code review skills
- Agile + Scrum Methodology experience
- Ability to quickly adapt, learn, and problem solve
- Team player, willing to jump outside of their role to help the greater team.
- Ability to research as you work.

- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
- We work in two-week sprints and monthly feature releases.
- The ability to follow common Agile practices (daily async standups, sprint groomings and retros). We’re always looking to improve on how we function as a team.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with newer specifications of EcmaScript
- 3+ years of experience with frontend libraries like React or React Native for mobile
- GIT + Github Experience
- Experience with Google Firebase is a must.
- Experience with typescript.
- Experience with PostgreSQL is preferred.
- Experience working with Docker is preferred.
- Experience with AWS is preferred.
- Experience with Node.js is preferred.
- Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles.
- Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
Role and Responsibilities:
- Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use.
- Developing new user-facing features using React.js.
- Translating designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
- Optimizing components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers
