Full Stack Engineer — Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, AWS at OneSeven Tech

Project Brief

We're building a custom middleware layer that connects a voice AI platform to a client's core business systems — including real estate transaction data, staff directories, and Microsoft Teams notifications. This is a greenfield backend project with a clear scope, a tight-knit internal team, and real production stakes. You'll be the engineer who makes the voice agent smart by building the APIs, data pipelines, and admin tooling that powers it behind the scenes. 

Must-Haves

• Strong Node.js / TypeScript backend development — production-grade, not just prototypes
• REST API design — security (token-based auth, IP whitelisting), documentation, and edge case handling
• PostgreSQL — schema design, queries, and full-text search (pg_trgm or similar)
• Experience integrating third-party APIs in production — OAuth flows, webhook handling, and failure recovery
• AWS experience — ECS/Fargate, RDS, S3, and basic networking (or equivalent cloud platform)
• Professional English proficiency — clear written communication in Slack and pull requests
• Comfortable working independently, raising blockers proactively, and communicating progress in standups

Nice to Have

• GraphQL experience (for Qualia API integration)
• Microsoft Graph API (for Teams notifications)
• Job scheduling and background processing — cron, task queues, or equivalent
• Experience with Retool or similar low-code admin tooling
• Familiarity with real estate or transaction-based data systems

What You Will Do

• Build and maintain REST API endpoints called by the voice AI agent — customer file lookups, caller identity validation, and escalation triggers
• Integrate with the Qualia GraphQL API to pull real estate transaction data and build a caching layer for fast property lookups
• Connect with Microsoft Teams via the Graph API to notify staff when a caller requires a callback
• Design and maintain the PostgreSQL database — staff directory, routing configuration, call analytics, and cached data
• Set up job scheduling for Qualia data syncing and automated callback workflows
• Build the admin dashboard in Retool so the client's team can manage configuration and review call logs without engineering support
• Collaborate closely with the AI/Voice engineer and technical lead — communication with the client flows through the PM and tech lead
