Our founder, James, started OneSeven over five years ago after his experience hiring an offshore agency for his pre-seed Ed-Tech startup. The project was unsuccessful due to communication issues, conflicting time zones, and scope creep. Since then, he built OneSeven and tailored our services to support startup founders in need of high quality software development.
The role: We are looking for a seasoned Full-Stack developer to join our LATAM development team. We are a competitive agency that is looking for great talent in order to build even better products for our clients. You will be working within our development team to contribute to clients' web and mobile applications.
Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, definition, and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front end.
You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application. Therefore, a basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well.

Benefits/Compensation:
- Completely remote work
- Contract-based employment
- If hourly: $14-20/hour USD
- If Full-Time: $2,500 - $3,500 USD per month - depending on qualifications

Roles and Responsibilities:
Primary role
- Develop and deploy code for our web and mobile applications. You'll be working closely with our front-end and other backend developers.
- Share knowledge of the best software development practices
- Expertise in writing and integrating REST APIs
- 3+ years of experience with frontend technologies
like React or React Native for mobile - Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, GIT + Github Experience
- Experience with Node.js is a must
- Experience with TypeScript is a must
- Proficiency with fundamental front end technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Expertise with JavaScript frameworks
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
- Developing front-end website architecture.
- Designing user interactions on web pages.
- Developing back-end, web, and mobile applications.
- Ensuring cross-platform optimization for mobile phones.
- Ensuring responsiveness of applications.
- Seeing through a project from conception to finished product.
- Designing and developing APIs.
- Experience with mobile apps is preferred
- Experience with PostgreSQL is preferred.

Secondary role:
- Assist the Product Strategy team with initial app development research. This includes creating a backlog, working on database architecture, working on time estimates and version release plans.
- Work with clients after their project has been completed and launched to debug and provide support.
