Project Brief
OneSeven Tech is a US-based digital product agency focused on AI transformation and staff augmentation for mid-market companies. We build engineering teams for established software platforms and non-tech businesses that are going tech-enabled for the first time.
We're looking for a BDR to own the top of our staff augmentation pipeline. Your job is to find the right companies, get the right person interested, and hand them to our CEO for the close. This is a zero-to-one role — you'll be building the outbound machine, not inheriting one.
Must-Haves
- Fluent English — written and verbal (you'll be reaching US-based executives daily)
- 2+ years in outbound B2B sales, ideally in staff augmentation, software services, or tech consulting
- Strong email copywriting and multi-step sequence management
- Proven track record with real numbers: pipeline generated, meetings booked, revenue closed
- Experience with CRM tools (Pipedrive or similar) — clean data, no exceptions
- Understanding of buying signals: hiring activity, funding rounds, leadership changes, operational pain
- Available to work US hours (9am–5pm EST)
- Basic understanding of B2B SaaS and software development
- Founding mindset: you build the playbook, you don't wait for one
- Comfortable selling to non-technical buyers (COOs, CEOs, GMs of traditional businesses)
- Self-starter mentality — you'll be building this function, not following a playbook
Nice to Have
- Experience selling technical services (staff augmentation, consulting, software development)
- Experience with cold email tools (Instantly, Apollo, Lemlist)
- Experience with LinkedIn automation (Meet Alfred, Hey Reach, Dripify)
- Understanding of AI/ML landscape and terminology
- Previous experience at a digital agency or software consultancy
What You Will Do
- Source and qualify leads across our staff aug ICPs: established SaaS/data platforms, construction companies, healthcare operators, and non-tech businesses hiring their first engineering team
- Build and manage outbound sequences using Apollo, Sales Navigator, and Instantly (30 warmed inboxes ready to go)
- Identify buying signals: open engineering roles, recent funding, new tech leadership hires, post-acquisition integration needs
- Personalize messaging by ICP and buyer persona (CTO vs COO vs CEO)
- Identify and flag high-intent leads based on buying signals and ICP fit before handing them to the CEO for the close
- Track KPIs weekly: open rate, reply rate, meetings booked, meetings qualified
- Iterate on messaging based on data — A/B test subject lines, angles, CTAs
- Collaborate directly with the CEO on what's working and what needs to change
